I've been working on a new plasma gun technique for the Knights Bellicose. I was never truly happy with how I've been doing them in the past on the Ultramarines, especially when I keep seeing all these really cool glow effects in Warhammer Visions magazine. After running a few tests, I think I've finally perfected my technique. The best part is that I did the whole thing using only two colors! Here's how it looks:

Take note of the buttstock. We'll get to that in a minute. |
I looked at a few images and tutorials on the internet and tried a few out. Then I realized that I could do the whole effect using only white and a single green color. By changing how heavily I drybrush the green over the plasma coils, I could effectively change the brightness. That means I can do the whole effect in about two minutes. Here's how it turned out:

Remember, it's all done with only two colors. |

The new buttstock. |
When working on the colors for the plasma gun, I decided to change the colors of the gun itself. The black buttstock of the Ultramarines' plasma gun fits in with the color scheme, but with brown as a main color for the Knights Bellicose, I didn't like how the black buttstock looked. For this one, I painted the whole buttstock red and did the butt pad as brown leather. What do you think?
Let me know what you think about how the new plasma gun looks. If you guys want, I'll write up a tutorial!
Have fun painting!
